so...I'm coming up on my subscription running out on norton and was wondering what some of you recommended for anti-virus software. I know I'm going to be avoiding norton 06 and norton 07 like it's the plague. I've been looking at AVG and Avast! and don't know how those stack up to a product like norton.

Do I have to worry more/less about a possible infection?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

AVG is excellent been using it for years without any problems, Avast! has also had very good reviews though haven't used it myself. As long as you keep them up to date you should have no problems. Just remember if your going to unistall Norton make sure you completely remove it - either manually (inluding registry entries) or you could use this (http://digg.com/software/Remove_Norton_*completely*_safely).
