There's lots of info on the web like here (http://www.aptcommunications.com/ncode.htm), here (http://www.lammertbies.nl/comm/cable/modular.html), and here (http://www.makeitsimple.com/how-to/dyi_crossover.htm). How to guide here (http://www.ehow.com/how_122160_make-network-cable.html).
If it's part of your job your employers should provide you with the tools to do your job but if you want to specify which one you want then try RS (http://www.rswww.com) or Blackbox (http://www.blackbox.com)
We have one of these (http://www.blackbox.com/Catalog/Detail.aspx?cid=151,155,993&mid=1540) and they are good for quick jobs but you might want to look at something like this (http://www.blackbox.com/Catalog/Detail.aspx?cid=151,155,993&mid=3807)
