Hey all,
I have a co-worker who claims to be able to use his 1 gig USB stick as part of the FSB or Processing speed. Can this be done? If so... how?
Can a USB stick be used for anything else other than storage?
Thanks in advance for your help.

FSB   USB IS a bus (Univesal Serial Bus) the FSB (Front Side Bus) is used to manage the signal information between the processor/ RAM/ PCI and AGP periperals not any "external" devices. That would be done via say the serial bus (for a serial device).
Even if you could use the USB as part of the FSB it would actual slow the process down as in reliality the write write to a USB device is actually slower than that of a HD (it also has a limit on the number of read/ writes iirc)

Ah a clue ;) - yes you can, could it be he has put his page file on the USB stick ? This (in theory) would speed up Windows but as I have mentioned in reality this is not the case it would actuall slow Windows down.
I'd be interested to know what he has done
