I'm using MS Word Professional 2003.

I'm trying to create a LOCKED form with the path and filename in the footer. I need the footer to update if the file has a new name/location. I can put the footer in, and lock the document, but then the footer stays the same even if I change the file name (it shows the old path/filename). I have tried creating sections and only locking the body, but it locks the footer too. I have also tried inserting a text form field so I can calculate on exit, but I can't put that kind of field in the footer.

Any suggestions?

As far as I can tell, the headers and footers using fields don't update until you've saved and closed or saved and printed the document.
