View Full Version : The ashes
Pauldohert 12-12-2006, 01:10 AM I was lucky enough to get to go to a days play in the ashes -
Saw Collingwood get a century - then saw Pieterson get a century - then Collingwood get his double hundred.
The aussies went almost two full sessions without taking a wicket - then England bowl just 5 overs to take the wicket of one of the aussie openers.
From what I've seen England are going to piss the ashes - and Montys still to come!!!

I think they should be like Prince Nas and be forced to relinquish their OBEs, CBEs , MBEs or whatever they got. What was the achivement again -
They succeeded in not coming second in a two horse race, against a nation with a third of our population, at a game we invented, on home soil - for 18 years they hadn't even managed this much.
Sounds rather like the award was for being sh**t for 18 years.
Could someone please nominate me for an award - a knighthood even - There have been occasions when I have not been shit also!?

dan-cat 01-05-2007, 05:01 AM It must be quite flattering to the "Aussies" that they hand out honors to the Brits if they actually manage to beat them once in a while :p
Pauldohert 01-05-2007, 05:26 AM Its quite flattering to the England team that they get honours - I have no doubt the Aussies think its a joke.

As do most of the English, but then the whole of the honours system has been a joke for years, remember Lady Falkender?, its just that our Tone has taken it to new depths.

ColinEssex 01-12-2007, 05:33 AM ok did the above article make any sense to anyone who is not from europe?
It is fully understood by non Europeans, thats why we have international matches with India, Sri-Lanka, Pakistan, West Indies, Australia, New Zealand etc.
Slightly more world involvement than your "world" series.

If you're referring to Australia, you'll find they are not ex-colonies, they are still part of the Commonwealth.

johnquick 04-20-2007, 05:20 AM what about michael vaughn as captain?
what a joke
Pauldohert 04-20-2007, 07:14 AM I don't think he's mastered this quick scoring thing - probably double his wages and keep him on for the 20/20 cup.
johnquick 04-23-2007, 12:52 AM Having said that they might turn him into a national hero after the win against the windies!
