I want to change the date format in Excel.If i enter 10/07/1984 it should be changed to 10 Jul 1984.

but when i tried this using formatcells option it is changing the above thing as 07 Oct 1984.

can anyone help me out of this?

Double check the regional settings date format for your PC in Control Panel. Make sure they are set to your local settings and not U.S format.
