I have been approached by a few people lately looking for database programs. I will usually recommend Access but then it turns out they have an Apple.
Is there a DBMS for Apple?

Have heard great things about FileMaker. Minkey 07-19-2007, 11:26 PM Yep FileMaker is good but it's not free Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/) however is and the database app (Base) is very similar to Access. Here's an excellent overview of the main differences between Filemaker and Access : http://www.filemaker.com/downloads/pdf/fm_access_comparison.pdf rhett7660 07-23-2007, 12:23 PM Don't laugh I am using file maker ver 5 now.... It is a lot easier to use IMHO then access. I can only imagine how the new versions are. If you have worked in access for a while it will take you a little time to get used to the way things are laid out and where they are....... But I like it so far, especially for the little things I have had to use it for. |
