Hi all

Just to say hi - I'm back again. Got a new job, (finished my life sentence with the NHS). After the most appalling treatment, I decided to leave. Have landed a fab job with a commercial mortgage company in Brentwood so am getting used to commuting for the first time ever!

Am working with Access and Excel all day and I love it!

Good to be back!

Ally

HI Bob

Several months since I posted a couple of times in the watercooler and probably over a year since I did anything Access wise here.

YAY! I get tired of being the only girl around the 'Cooler at times. It doesn't seem like many visit any longer. Happy to see you're back in the fold. :)

Is Hayley or Tess or Tay not around much?

Yes welcome back Ally

Now the NHS have saved your and Col's salaries, I'll be able to have my operation:D

Is Hayley or Tess or Tay not around much?

Tay looked in a while back but a bunch of us have been loath to post much as there has been a lot of UK/US wrangling that gets stitched into every post that we don't agree with. I'm afraid that particular joke's worn a bit thin for a lot of us...... Still good to hear you're doing well in the private sector. I've got afriend who's a trainee Public Health Consultant and she's looking to move from the NHS due to all the crap too.

So Barry - are you still Col's manager!?

I'd like to think that this has calmed down a little bit recently. Don't you think? :)

Well.....

There were some nasty accusations of certain moneys not being accounted for and I've had to retire, much against my will to the Cayman Islands, where I managed to buy a small place with the pittance that was my commission. I had to settle for only 10 bedrooms things were so tight..... I think Col's still in his bedsit in Southend over that pub he used to busk outside.

He never calls..........;)

Don't believe a word he says, everything was legal and above board. I only ever had his best interests at heart. Now I've got to go for a swim in my pool to cool down, this's fair put me off me caviar.:(

Hayley has moved on I believe and Tess doesn't visit very often since her new job;)
Still, there are one or two here that blame others for their departure:eek:

I know from PM's from at least a couple of members that people are just sick of all the bickering and acrimonious posts. Perhaps jobs, etc. are a part of the reason as well but it is my personal opinion (right or wrong I don't know) that more people would probably visit more often if the 'cooler were a more pleasant place to be. Several members have expressed this in posts as well. ;)

I've no wish to fall out with anyone but without mentioning names, what I find sad about this whole situation is that the usual perpetrators are, to a man, intelligent, personable and very likeable people who go out of their way to help with queries on the forum and with whom anyone here would spend a very enjoyable evening over a drink or two.

The fact that some share a somewhat warped and mischievous sense of humour that masks tongue-in-cheek posts with polemic simply to get a rise from others has either been missed or progressively lost over the months.

It's almost become a way of life here and as I stated before, it's worn rather thin and now has a detrimental effect on other posters - sorry but that's a fact and it should give no-one here any satisfaction.

When I first joined the forum I was very reluctant to post in the 'cooler as it seemed a bit like a club with everyone "knowing" in the virtual sense, everyone else but I eventually jumped in and it soon felt good to be part of a world wide group of friends from diverse backgrounds who could share/debate their views on anything and everything. It doesn't often feel like that now and that diminishes us all.

I'm here! Nice to see you back here, Ally.:)

We're now living in Newcastle (wasn't Fizzion a Geordie?) and are students at Newcastle uni doing GIS degrees. Next semester, we'll be taught how to create a relational database... I may be posting more on here, needing to know what tables are...:D:rolleyes:

After a month of waiting, we finally got an internet connection, so should hopefully drop in here more.

Yes, we both do miss France a lot, but are enjoying Newcastle too. We've still got our house in France, so intend to return during the summer holidays, and maybe Easter too.

Is that possible? You need to learn a completely new language to go there:confused:

Are there little clubs you can go where they speak proper English so you can converse?

Hello Ally

Lovely to see you around again. I just happened to check in here by chance and read a few posts. It's not too often I find the time these days as I am always travelling back and forth to London. I am looking to move down your way asap but waiting on the right job to come along......work are trying to keep me for as long as possible as we are very short staffed in our team right now, we have a new start coming in soon so I guess they want me to train them first...given that christmas is fast approaching and I have a 6 week notice period I think it will be into the new year now.

Hayley left Sky, but I still keep in touch by text.

I left Sky 3 years ago now Col, very behind the times aren't ya :p Working in Edinburgh for a Finance company now, been a good experience and will certainly open a whole lot of new opportunities up to me when I do move.

Maybe catch you for a coffee sometime when I'm in Colchester then Ally, visit a lot these days :)

Bye for now
Hay
