I would like to know if there is a maximum nb of columns to use in a table or at least a prefered max nb. For example i have a table "customers" and inside i have "name" "last name" "age" "gender"..and so on is there a limit?
By the way i'm using access 2007
Thx for the explanation in advance.

the max allowed is 255
however - if you are using that many - then morelikey you have a problem with your set up
20-30 is reasonable

Hi
The limit in Access 2007 is 255 columns but I wouldn't recommend more than 100 as it gets a bit clumpy. If your design is normalised then you shouldn't need that many anyway.

Thanks for your replies and help, sure i'll not use the 255!! i'll not even use more than 30!:)
By the way, i have some general question about a small project i'm doing, do you have any ideas where to post it? i'm confused in which section! since the database i'm doing will contain tables, querries forms and reports.
I'd like to disscuss with someone what i'm doing so if i can get ideas or advises..
Thanks anyway
