Hi Guys,
am certainly not goofing around with this. Iam desperately in need of help. Though SQL Server looks vague to my job profile and stream. The situation called me to get my hands dirty.

Now my question goes like this . I have the databases with the .mdf and .ldf files. I had to take it to another machine which was not in a domain or server. I must get it work on a standalone machine. With some wild ideas and inputs I installed sql server 2005 and visual studio 2005. I even tried with SQL server 2000( where it was not expected to work, which I realised only then). I also have the a tool which gets data to the databases which would dare to open up only if SQL Sever is configured the rite way.

I'd be very thankful if someone can help me with this, before I bang my head on the screen.

So you cant move the database? dont know how to move the database? I'm confused

Can you tell me what the problem is exactly, its not very clear from your post.
