WHO? Jack Dempsey? Who the hell is that? I remember Marciano. He was incredible. WOW! A white guy too, go figure...that doesn't happen too often...

Dempsey was from the 1918 to about 1923 era. Some of his fights took $2million paid through the gate. What would that be on today's money.

One reason why there were a lot of white fighters in the earlier years was because other sports did not have the same money.

Statistically the best fighters would have come from the earlier years since the pool of fighters was much bigger and it was the money sport. The reverse would apply to sports such as tennis.

4% would be nearly 38 million

the inflation percentage doesn't matter, because it's way out of control nowadays anyway.
