I need to have a field updated each time I select the appropriate item in a combo box. I want to be able to enter an employee's name in "Description" and have their hourly unit rate automatically displayed in the "Unit Rate" field.

I also want to be able to override this unit rate and enter in any amount in the event that a different rate for a specific job or item is required.

Please Help, I am stumped!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming you are using Microsoft Access, have you tried setting the default value of the combo box (i.e one of the properties of the combo box) to the value you prefer?
