HTH RDH saratoga 12-29-2002, 10:04 PM Hi, had a similar problem myself, used the wizard in MSAccess 97 to create a contacts DB. Augmented the design by adding linked database tables for the data. Modified the Switchboard form and some of the AddUser form, changed picture on Switchboard form and the file size blew out from 14MB to, wait for it! 80MB!!!! Is this a bug in MSAccess? the original picture file inseted was an 8MB jpeg file but this was quickly corrected and the file size is now about 150KB. As an experiment, I removed the file from the switchboard form and lo and behold the total file size of the database INCREASED ( yes, folks, that's INCREASED) from 80MB to 84MB!!!! Can anyone throw some light on this? Cheers, Roy.. Oldsoftboss 12-30-2002, 12:42 AM Roy, try the compact and repair option under tool in the menu. You may also check the option for compact on close under the database options. I always link picture objects, not OLE objects. For a demo go to http://users.impulse.net.au/predator/accessdownloads.htm and download the ImageSample97 file. HTH Dave |
