what works better? wireless USB or a wireless adapter. I just made a new desktop and need a WiFi card. Historically I've used a wireless adapter in the past, I've never used a wireless USB, so I don't know how good they are.

It doesn't really matter. The technology and results are comparable. I would recommend a USB stick so you can easily use it on more than one machine/laptop/whatever.

As Vassago comments there isn't too much difference between the two regarding performance. USB sticks are more flexible so are definitely recommended. Just make you invest in a high quality adapter or USB just in case you do have problems and need support.

Concur. I use a USB wireless adapter with a LinkSys router. Wife's laptop has a built-in wireless adapter. No apparent difference in ease/speed/reliability.
