View Full Version : Who banned Rich? KenHigg 08-25-2008, 03:10 AM What the heck is going on around here - Who banned Rich and why? oumahexi 08-25-2008, 03:17 AM This is just pathetic! He couldn't have banned himself, could he? What has he said or done to deserve this? Who's next? It's getting to the stage you're scared to open your mouth (or keyboard as the case may be). Ron_dK 08-25-2008, 03:31 AM Agree with ye all there. This banning thing is getting out of proportion. Seems like Alisa was the first to catch this ban : post 46: http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=155464&page=2 Banana 08-25-2008, 05:01 AM Actually, I did see Rich online with 'Banned'; yesterday, IIRC. It's possible to type in Banned in the profile. See? I just changed my profile from "Will work for Gorilla" to "Banned". But I'm not actually banned. EDIT: http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e270/GDINobody/banned.png Changing it back to "Will work for Gorilla" now... georgedwilkinson 08-25-2008, 06:02 AM Rich has stated his intent to leave. I can't think of a reason why anyone would want to or need to ban somebody who is leaving. Seems like one last prank to me. oumahexi 08-25-2008, 06:11 AM Rich has stated his intent to leave. I can't think of a reason why anyone would want to or need to ban somebody who is leaving. Seems like one last prank to me. OK, that answers that question. But what of the mystery of my changed poll? Can just anyone go in and change that? I would have thought it would have to be the person who started the thread or an administrator  KenHigg 08-25-2008, 06:21 AM You really don't think he banned himself do you? I could be wrong... Who knows anymore :p Alisa 08-25-2008, 06:29 AM You really don't think he banned himself do you? I could be wrong... Who knows anymore :p Probably, it sounds like something Rich would do . . . Interestingly enough, it looks like the fifth poll option on the petition has been removed now. KenHigg 08-25-2008, 06:34 AM ...Interestingly enough, it looks like the fifth poll option on the petition has been removed now. It's not the only post that has been modified but I'll wait and see if anyone else see's it. This forum is now out of control. People being mysteriously banned and posts mysteriously modified at will... What’s next? Alisa 08-25-2008, 10:06 AM Not only did they ban him, they deleted his profile - if you go back and look at threads he has posted to, it just says "Rich" "guest" and you can't click on the profile like normal. Guess it is not a prank. Guess it is not a prank. I'm trying to get in touch with Rich to get the real story, maybe he ask to be removed - ? Am I the only one who is curious about this? If so I'll shut up and let it go... Alisa 08-25-2008, 10:25 AM I want to know too . . . MrsGorilla 08-25-2008, 10:30 AM Me too. Especially after last week. :o Brianwarnock 08-25-2008, 10:37 AM I'm trying to get in touch with Rich to get the real story, maybe he ask to be removed - ? No Ken , justice should not only be done but seen to be done, those who think that the admin/mods decisons do not need to be explained are fooling themselves, how can others learn if we are not told. Brian I'm all for getting on the bandwagon but it's simply too risky to go it alone - :) Brianwarnock 08-25-2008, 10:55 AM I'm all for getting on the bandwagon but it's simply too risky to go it alone - :) I think that comment says a whole lot for how things have been handled, and why the whole forum needs to know what is going on and why people are banned. Sure Col and Rich can be pains, and Col was perhaps a bit over the top but Bob was not blameless. A bit of humility and the ability to admit to mistakes would go a long way into avoiding problems escalting. Brian statsman 08-25-2008, 11:45 AM It is my understanding that Rich has not been banned. He has placed the word "Banned" in his name slot to raise sh#t. No doubt it has to do with his sympathy for Col. Rich has continued to post despite the supposed banning. If you go over to the Politics forum you will see he has made several posts today. MrsGorilla 08-25-2008, 11:48 AM It is my understanding that Rich has not been banned. Why does it say 'Guest' under his name, his post count says n/a, and you can no longer click on his profile? When did he post last? statsman 08-25-2008, 11:50 AM Why does it say 'Guest' under his name, his post count says n/a, and you can no longer click on his profile? When did he post last? TODAY! Check Politics & Current Events. He has probably blanked these areas himself. ADDED: Sorry Ms. I just checked myself. You may be correct. I was not aware that Rich had been banned. Apologies to all. I was not aware that Rich had been banned. Apologies to all. I was just trying to figure out how one would go about removing your post count, etc. yourself. :D ColinEssex 08-25-2008, 12:21 PM I am not banned now. I served one week's ban and am now back. I spoke with Bob via the Utter Access forum and we have made peace. I was over the top in my comment and I think Bob was right to ban me. As far as I am concerned, the matter is closed. I have no idea what is going on with Rich. Col KenHigg 08-25-2008, 12:23 PM This should be interesting then :p Alisa 08-25-2008, 12:26 PM Welcome back Col. dan-cat 08-25-2008, 01:43 PM I fear that Rich's profile has been deleted. He is no longer listed on the Members list. ColinEssex 08-25-2008, 01:47 PM I fear that Rich's profile has been deleted. He is no longer listed on the Members list. That's sad. I'm glad that I enjoyed a Chinkie with him last year. Good luck Rich, wherever you are Col |
