What the heck is going on around here - Who banned Rich and why?

This is just pathetic! He couldn't have banned himself, could he? What has he said or done to deserve this? Who's next? It's getting to the stage you're scared to open your mouth (or keyboard as the case may be).

Actually, I did see Rich online with 'Banned'; yesterday, IIRC. It's possible to type in Banned in the profile.

See? I just changed my profile from "Will work for Gorilla" to "Banned". But I'm not actually banned.

Rich has stated his intent to leave. I can't think of a reason why anyone would want to or need to ban somebody who is leaving. Seems like one last prank to me.

OK, that answers that question. But what of the mystery of my changed poll? Can just anyone go in and change that? I would have thought it would have to be the person who started the thread or an administrator :confused:

It's not the only post that has been modified but I'll wait and see if anyone else see's it.

Not only did they ban him, they deleted his profile - if you go back and look at threads he has posted to, it just says "Rich" "guest" and you can't click on the profile like normal. Guess it is not a prank.

No Ken , justice should not only be done but seen to be done, those who think that the admin/mods decisons do not need to be explained are fooling themselves, how can others learn if we are not told.

I think that comment says a whole lot for how things have been handled, and why the whole forum needs to know what is going on and why people are banned.
Sure Col and Rich can be pains, and Col was perhaps a bit over the top but Bob was not blameless. A bit of humility and the ability to admit to mistakes would go a long way into avoiding problems escalting.

He has placed the word "Banned" in his name slot to raise sh#t.
No doubt it has to do with his sympathy for Col.
Rich has continued to post despite the supposed banning. If you go over to the Politics forum you will see he has made several posts today.

I was just trying to figure out how one would go about removing your post count, etc. yourself. :D

I am not banned now. I served one week's ban and am now back. I spoke with Bob via the Utter Access forum and we have made peace. I was over the top in my comment and I think Bob was right to ban me.

As far as I am concerned, the matter is closed.

I have no idea what is going on with Rich.
