i am trying to do 2 things. First, i have created a switchboard that works fine from the forms windo but will not open as the default window. it says default in the switchboard Manager but when i close and come back in it doesn't open automatically.
second thing i want to do a n automatic back-up to the A drive as part of the closing process. i know i need to create a macrobut i couldn't find anything that said "send to" or "back-up to".

you will need to goto tools - start up and select the switchboard from the drop down selection called "Display Form". this will now start your dbf with the switchboard.

Not sure about the back up but you might want to consider creating a copy of the dbf, linking all the tables to the tables in the master - that way when you update one, you will update the back-up copy as well. Also you might think about the replication feature but it is a little less flexible.
