I think that I have given people the impression that I'm an alcoholic :D its not true, I can give it up easily if I want to, but at my age why bother. ;)

Thanks for the info Chris, but after 3 foreign holidays this year I have a good selection in the cupboard and the missus just might wonder what's going on if I get more.

Ron I'll be having a few reds tonight, its only a short walk to the restaurant.

Thanks a bunch everybody. Had a nice lazy day and a good meal , no not at Bistro Pierre but La Busola on Allerton Road, mind you my 8 oz fillet is not even a starter for Shane, I think he had a 24oz at the restaurant he took us to when we visited.
Ron we had a Chilean Cabinet Sauvignon, or 2. as one of my daughters and her partner came.

Ah! Button Street, The White Star, Tom the cellar man kept a great Mild, Gladys the bar maid looked after us . We drank in the back, a ring on the bell a wave to Gladys and the round was delivered. Great days of putting the world to rights. Look whats happened to it since.:D

8 OZ! That's only enough to get started. If that's all they would have given me, I would have been mad!:D

Brian

I know what you mean about giving people a certain impression about the drink. It is well known fact that my favorite drink is the White Russian. Every year for my birthday, my friends and family all get me the same thing. A bottle of Kahlua. NOT that I am complaining, mind you.... Last year I had 5 bottles given to me.... And they were "special" bottles.... you know.... shaped in some sort of ancient Aztec god. We had fun putting them in different poses.... conga lines.... worship circles, etc. My husband was lying on the floor one night and I arranged them around him to make it look like he was being sacrificed.... lol.... But the point I guess I'm making is... there's a lot more to me than Kahlua.

(I just can't think of anything else right now.)

ColSo that's why obesity is increasing in the UK:rolleyes: Last time I was in Essex I saw many grossly overweight people. So I think there is a lot of excess eating.

We've saved him the trouble. The difference is, he would go into a few sentences on the ignorance of the American society and how we mutilated the English language. All of that for a typographical error.

Now he doesn't have to.

Yep I was pleased that you followed it up, but Col's life seems so empty these days that he has to have a cheap shot at everything, which is why I offered up the difference in our vehicles, but he hasn't bitten on that yet.

Well let's see, would say a German who moved to the states be German or American? I would class him as an ex-pat German. Any children he had in America might well be classed as Americans - not least because they would be entitled to US citizenship.
