View Full Version : What is a .zipp file? burrelly 12-22-2008, 06:49 AM I have recieved an email from a client that is .zipp - yes double P - I have tried opening it with Winrar and winzip with no luck. Any ideas what to open it with? dkinley 12-22-2008, 06:59 AM I would guess that it is a .zip file but renamed so it would go through an e-mails filtering system. I usually use the reverse, .piz, or my initials, .dk, to get databases through firewalls in a .zip file. Try changing the extension to .zip and see if that changes anything. -dK burrelly 12-22-2008, 07:04 AM Nope made no difference. I am waiting on my client getting back to me once they have spoken to the sender. dkinley 12-22-2008, 07:05 AM Ugh .... no idea. Best of luck! -dK Minkey 12-27-2008, 04:56 AM Nope made no difference. I am waiting on my client getting back to me once they have spoken to the sender. So it's from a legit source right ? (if not I'd be suspicious) If so  can they send it in it's native format as .zipp is not a traditional recognised file type. You might be able to see the file type by opening it with notepad but that is a long shot (it works with Windows native i.e. non zipped - that's what it is - files) |
