Thanks for responding but I still don't have a working find function. I do have my preferences set for general search but I still must specify a field to search in before Access finds the record. As far as the help about rerouting the VB code, I don't know what one is and don't think I've set to attach to the [on exit]. This function worked fine for me in Access '97, it just stopped working when I upgraded to 2000. Any other hints? Does it work for most of you?
