I am trying to have my database open and append an excel file everyday at the same time. I have gotten this to work using an Autoexec command, but it only works when the computer is locked of I am logged on.

When I completely log off the scheduled task will not run. I have made sure to uncheck the "run only if logged on" button and it still does not work.

The problem is our IT department is overwriting this file everyday and if I am not here on the weekend it will have overwrittin Sat and Sun before I even get a chance to look at it.

The other issue is my company sometimes runs updates that will automatically log me off if my computer is in the "Lock" position.

Nothing you can do about that except see if you can get your IT guys to run a script to make a copy of the file for you. Access can't run as "A Service" so you have to be logged on to your computer for it to work.
