37 yro male from Durham, NC -

I am completely new to Access 2003 but I do know the simple knowledge of how things sort of work in it.

I know basic functions of MS Excel 2003, have difficulty with the advance features and Visual Basic as well.

I am self taught of the knowledge I know so far.

I am a retired PC technician and I am now learning lock-smithing by my father. Dealing with pinning numbers all day so I want to try to make things simple with either or both MS Access or Excel with out having to buy all those expensive software when I already have the data.

Retired due to 4recent back surgeries......

hi j,
sorry about your back. sounds rough.

- be sure to *search* the forums for help (use google to 'search this site').
- check out the sample databases.
- i haven't looked into your 1st posted question because i don't work with excel very much. (it's hard to tell if you want to stay with excel or move to access, or both.)

gentle reminders (applies to everybody):
- don't post the same question more than once; it'll reduce the chance of responses;
- try to "drill down" into your question(s) to create a small, distinct questions as opposed to broad questions.

ciao for now.
