I need help with a seemingly simple function. I want to be able to enter simple fractions in text boxes on a form and have them add up and display the result as another fraction. Access doesn't have a built in fraction converter like Excel. ie, 3/4 + 1/8 + 5/16 = ???

Thanks much
Cordell

Unpack the string with the instr() function and perform the indicated operation.

Cordell please ignore Ilk he's just being his usual superior helpful self Not!
I suspect that nobody in the UK or propably Europe uses fractions anymore so won't have the answers your looking for, howevever out of curiosity I searched the help file and found the answer for a function I've been looking for so in return here's another site that had a fraction related question posted last year not exactly what your looking for but I'm sure they will be able to answer you being US based. http://bbs.elementkjournals.com/bbs/showpost.pl?Board=ima&Number=21977&Search=true&Forum=ima&Words=fractions&Match=Whole&Searchpage=0&Limit=25
Best of luck.
