Having trouble with a report. Have several text boxes with labels stacked in a column alongside a subreport. In design view, everything looks fine. However, in print preview, the last two text boxes are thrown down the page. Have tried everything, but nothing is working. Does anyone have any idea?

It sounds like an artifact of the CanGrow property.

It seems to be isolated to an area towards the bottom right of the report. When everything is moved up, the issue only affects whatever part of the list touching this area. Very strange.

What version of Access are you using and on what OS? Have you turned off CanGrow on the Detail section to see what happens? Can you post the db?

Okay, I did change the detail section to "No" for Can Grow. Now the alignment is okay, but the last text box is cut off. There is plenty of room between the last text box and the bottom of the page, so I don't know why this is. Wish I could post, but it is a large file. I am using Access 2003 on an Access 2000 database.

Does it get small enough when you Compact and Repair and then Zip? If not then you might try using one of the free file hosting sites.

Wish I could, but it is proprietary. Would a screenshot help?

Okay, here goes: I'm attaching 2 screenshots, one in design view and one in print preview. They aren't the entire screen, but you get the idea. This is a 3 page report, and only the third page is problematic. I didn't design this database, simply updating and maintaining it. This is a sister report to another that actually links to a table. It is having a similar problem, in the exact same area on its page 3.

I'm curious why the labels can not be on the SubReport?

If you're having problems with the CanGrow property make sure that none of the textboxes are touching each other when in design view

Thanks for all of your help, but it is still not right. I'm just letting it roll right now, because it's not the biggest deal. It does bother me, though, as it doesn't make any sense.

Alright, now I'm even more confused. I couldn't resolve this, so I started a new report and duplicated the report, creating every text box from scratch. The only things I copied from the other report were some of the labels to save time. Now it is doing the same thing only in a different area of the report. I can't understand what could be causing this. Nothing is touching and I've adjusted every can grow property that I can try. Would this qualify as a bug? If anyone has experienced anything remotely similar, please advise. Thanks.
