We currently use Excel to make a sales report that we are able to compare sales from this year to last year and year to date information. The problem is all the data is entered by hand.

I was hoping that I would be able to make a db that I can upload all the sales information and then run the report to show the comparative data.

Is it possible to make a sales report like attached excel spread sheet that I am able to compare the sum of sales from the beginning of the year to the month that I am running the report on and then show the same data for last year or because of how access reports gather and reveal the information it would be impossible to do.

I have not looked at you example, but it is definitely possible to do report that compares multiple periods like you have described.

In my accounting system I have a report the will do a 2 to 5 year (selectable) comparison for MTD and YTD.

I don’t suppose I could get information on how you have it setup.
