I've read some topics similar to this, but still can't figure it out.

I have two combo boxes. The first is general and the second is more specific and based on the first. I would like to be able to choose an item on the first combo box and it limit the selection choses on the second box.

I have little experience with access. How do I set this up? Any help is appreciated.

You need to use a parameter query as the rowsource for the second combobox.

Select fld1,fld2,etc.
From YourTable
Where SomeField = Forms!YourFormName!FirstComboBoxName;

Then in the AfterUpdate event of the first combo put -
Me.SecondComboBoxName.Requery

I want the form to do one more thing. As you chose an item in the combobox and the second combobox requeries, I also want the form to go to the first record that matches that info in the field.

Can I do this during the same AfterUpdate event?
