Hopefully, somebody back in Blighty can remember the name of this one.

It was on in 2002 and 2003, but may have run for longer.
I'm pretty sure it was on BBC2
It was about people who wanted to move from the UK to live and work in another country. Part of the programme was spent looking for a house/apartment for the people involved and the rest looked at what they planned to do for work and what preparation they were carrying out beforehand.
I remember one family went to France, one to Canada, one to the bahamas, and one to Tenerife.
I can't remember the name or who was in it :o
I was describing it to someone here and drew a total blank on the name.

Perfect!

I wouldn't have remebered that name if you'd given me a year to do so. I do remember the one presenter, though, and that was her.

Many thanks.

I think dan-cat's link is perfect. You can get the presenter name from the link. When you get the name than please share with us. I also want to know the name.
The programme itself is called "Get a new life".

It's one of the reasons I'm now in Canada.

'Get a new Life'. I met the couple that relocated to Costa Teguise, Lanzarote in the Captain Cook Bar. They are back in Blighty now.

Was that the guy who packed his laptop and a printer in his suitcase, paying extra as it took him over the weight allowance, and was then amazed when they were smashed when he arrived?

He was great.:D I remember his logic being that he needed to take the printer so he could make up business cards for a business he didn't have, rather than paying to have them printed over there once he'd set one up.

Made me feel positively over-prepared when I was getting ready to come here.
