To anyone

I have read several examples of this and I just dont get it:

I have one main form, lets say Customer form. Several of the fields pull from another form(or table). How do I make it so, that when a user encounters a choice not in the combo box, (like a City) automatically go to the form City, add a record, Update the list, then go back to the Customer form and have it enter. Not sure I explained this correctly, but i dont want to close the form to have it update.
I would really appreciate a detailed answer.
