Apparently the Aussie government is implementing a nationwide law that bans pornography site viewing and gambling site viewing for the general public. I feel outrage abound...

Imagine bringing a law like that to the United States. LOL. Just laughing...don't mind me.

Be interesting to see how they would poilce such a law...

The former I guess being obvious as something clearly sticks out... :p;)

Or imagine if the US government authorized monitoring of all internet traffic by intellegence agencies like they do in China?

Does this mean that the non-general public can view these things, a bit like all of the "best" bits from Pompeii being moved to the Naples museum for viewing only by the "elite".

What's new about that? We've had a political section here for a long time now. What's wrong with keeping the site organized?

They will have a heck of a time enforcing a law like this.

Exactly!

I don't really see this thread as being political yet. Sure it's regarding legal issues, but that's not necessarily the same. If we start getting into specifics on politics instead of poking fun at a stupid law, it may need to be moved. :D
