Hi, I have a question about how to unlock the fields that are connected together in Microsoft Access 2007 in the Report Design View form.
I tried looking everywhere in the "Arrange" Tab and I cant find the feature to unlock them so I can move each field freely.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Thanks for your time.

edit: Nevermind, I found out how to do it.

I have another question though - How do you insert new header/footers for a specific field? I ran the report wizard and it only gave me page/report footer and header and the detail.
If I add a new grouping, it only gives me the header and not the footer. How do I get the footer to show in the design view?

Welcome to AWF!

Drop the field onto your report, right-click that control and select GROUP ON.

I'm trying to find out how to unlock the fields in the report design view like the original question - can you post how you did it please?

Many thanks

Edit: ha, as soon as I posted I figured it out - you right click and go to Layout > Remove (for anyone else with the same issue ;) )

When I right-click a field and then go to Layout - Remove, it deletes the field. I don't want to delete it, I want to unlock it. Any suggestions?

It doesn't delete anything. If you selected one of the controls in the middle or on the far left it will unlock it and re-align the other controls. So it may look as if it's hidden but it's actually behind the other controls that still have the lock on.

Select ALL the controls, right-click one of the textboxes > hit Layout > click Remove.
