i know it is probably a simple problem but does anyone know how or why there are hidden buttons on the switchboard and why it keeps failing to show the items whihc it should? i hope this makes sense because i have created three switchboards now whihc are all playing up and i need to get it completed. please reply if you know what i shoudl do thank you

The switchboard form is designed to show the contents of the Switchboard Items table. It allows for up to 8 items per page. If fewer than 8 are specified, the remaining buttons are hidden.

You have probably put the missing items in a separate switchboard and not referenced that sub-switchboard from the main one. If you open the Switchboard Items table, I'm sure that you'll see the "missing" items.
