I realise this request is a little off subject but can anyone point me in the direction of a internet based sniffer type app that would report browser and plugins installed on a PC.

Ideally I'd like to know:

What browser, version , SP etc
Flash version
Shockwave version
JavaScript version
Acrobat Reader version

I know from experience with PHP that its global variables are very useful for returning information about the user and their client. Using those you can get extensive information about the browser they are using, but I don't believe that language can return the other information you want.

In fact, I would doubt that you could even get it, because the invasion of privacy concept might come into play if a language allowed you do get that much detailed information about an internet user.
