For the first time I have personally seen this site have over 800 active users at once. It just showed 806 - way to go! :D

Most excellent. This site has always been kind, useful, and well-organized/run.

Is this inaccurate?

http://accessworld.accessworld.netdna-cdn.com/forums/images/misc/whos_online.gif (http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/online.php) Most users ever online was 859, 11-02-2010 at 06:37 PM.

Do you feel you could get too many users? (allthough I am sure it's a fair way off anyway)

eg, I gave up looking at BBC comment boards, partly because the postings were moderated, limited, and not instant, but also because the threads were too long, and you often couldn't find what you were looking for.

Having said this, it's probably less likely in a technical forum, than a chat forum anyway.

Caught this a little late

I'm one of the new users. Got here because for some unknown reason I can no longer log into TekTips. Upside was that I had to look around for another forum and here I am, glad to be a member and enjoying the forums.

Congrats on the 800 + users

the people that run TekTips are pretty speculative. Any perceived "suspicious" activity and they suspend an account.

Aside from common sense, they're pretty intelligent!

Agreed.

In my early days with access they were invaluable and fantastic, a great bunch of people that bent over backwards to be helpful, in fact I owe them a lot and remain in awe for their abilities.
