I am creating a database for an inventory coding system in MS Access for a construction project. Items include various components that are shown on isometric drawing sets (i.e. valves, fittings, piping, etc). Each item on the drawings will have an inventory code contained in the Access database. There is a requirement to tag the drawings with these codes where the component is drawn.
I have been doing the above with a small text box on the drawing. The trouble is if I change a code in Access, I need to manually change the related code on the drawing. I was hoping there was a way to link the tagged drawings to the Access database where if I changed an inventory code in Access, it would automatically change the tag on the drawing. Is this possible???
The drawings that I am tagging are in both AutoCad 2010 .dwg format and in Adobe .pdf format.
