I have a column of cells which contain a formula, which display a value. But I need to delete the column this formula is based on, so I need to convert this column to a value first. Then I need to export it to a tab-delimited text file.

How do I convert a cell with a formula, to contain (and show) only the value?

Thanks.

Select and copy the column, then go to Edit|Paste Special (in 2007, right-click Paste Special) and select Values.... Click Ok.

In 2010 all you have to do is copy and right click. one of the things you see when you right click is a series of clipboard icons. The one with 123 on it is paste values.

Right under the icons are the words paste special, clicking there brings up even more clipboard icons including all the variations of paste special like with or without formating, etc.

Click and drag across your formulae, right click on the edge of the selection and hold down your right button. Drag it away and right back to the same place, then select paste as values.
