I need to be able to edit the Word.Doc pcs 09-17-2001, 05:27 PM Surjer, the short answer is no. http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/ubb/frown.gif al Surjer 09-17-2001, 05:42 PM Thanks, Thats what I thought, but I had to try! pcs 09-17-2001, 05:49 PM Surjer, sorry to be the bearer of bad news... wouldn't one think that with all the MS hype about the 'tight' integration of MS Office products, that this issue would have been resolved a long time ago? al Rich 09-19-2001, 12:08 AM The only reason I discovered the delights of access was because of a rapid discovery that Office was not an integrated package, far from it. Read the book How to fool the puplic and get away with it, author B.G. publisher M.S. Corporation. pcs 09-19-2001, 05:05 PM heck rich, i'm not really an MS basher, i earn a few (too few) bucks using their products. i just have a 'thing' about exporting reports to word. some years ago, i quoted a project that required some reports be exported to word. i naively believed that this was easy. i had to make different report versions for local printing and export. my client (who also believed the hype) thought, at first, that my skills set was somehow sub-standard (no comments on this please). anyway, it was, i suppose, a good learning experience. when dealing with MS products: test first!, then quote. http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif al Alexandre 09-19-2001, 08:53 PM Do you mean real graphs or drawings? For graphs in a word doc I am not sure, but otherwise I know that for complex report designs, it is possible to make a word template and push data to it. Alex pcs 09-19-2001, 09:30 PM alex, perhaps you miss the point http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif i was talking about really simple graphic objects... like a line or a box. and one should not have to create a word template and push data into it to accomplish this! if the choice is 'export to word' Ms access should be able to do it, with the formatting! al Alexandre 09-20-2001, 03:11 AM Pcs, I share your point of view 100%: Ms access should be able to do it. However, since it does not, I was suggesting to Surjer that solution to his problem. I think it would be a way to get what he wants, still better than nothing? Don t hesitate to comment. Alex pcs 09-20-2001, 04:40 PM alex, didn't mean to imply you suggestion was flawed; it probably is the best work-around. i was just whining. http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif al |
