We have a large amount of date in excel files. Feeling that the information would be more useful in an access file, new forms for inputting the information are being developed. I have made several attempts to write a transfer spreadsheet macro, and always get error message 3170 “Couldn’t find installable ISAM” I have had more computer technicians installing and re-installing then anyone should have to deal with. The latest attempt included re-imaging the hard drive, which sounded a bit extreme to me. The error message remains the same. The transfer macro seems fairly straightforward; can anyone help me with methods or keys to accomplish this transfer?

and search for "installable isam" you will find a paper that explains how to fix the problem. It has to do with certain .dll files not being properly registered.
