I'm not even sure if I will get any response to this question, but I shall give it a try anyway.

I have this huge database that consist of various tooling (ie: drills, inserts collets, etc)in Access 97. I wanted to dynamically incorporate changes to various procedures in Word format that these tools are being referenced without opening individual files manually when changes occur. For example when a user updates a field in Access is there a code in VB that could make this happen? It was suggested to me to run a script within Access that opens the file, refreshes, saves and closes the file. It sounds pretty hi-tech. Where do I start? Would a macro do the job?

Thanks in advance http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/ubb/smile.gif

Hi Tina,

Not quite sure what you need but in any case, it sounds like you need enough help that your best bet would be to pick up a book. You can probably get something going in a week or two with the right book. In the beginning you'll be able to do quite a bit without writing any macros and just using the wizards...

It sounds like you're talking about the basic uses of a database... sharing data (changes in procedures in this case)

Good luck,
norm
