OK, I feel stupid. I can figure out replication and visual basic, but charting some data is driving me crazy!
1) I create a report based on a query;
2) Insert a chart, using the wizard to choose fields, etc.;
3) In print preview I see sample data. Now the help says that this is normal, close the report and open it. Voila, real data. But if I close it a second time and reopen, back to the sample data.
This seems to happen whether I just use the wizard, build it myself, or use some combination of methods. I can build the query within the data source property, or just choose a query I've already written and saved as the source, switch back and forth between the two. I think I've tried all permutations to no avail. When I reopen, I get sample data. If I view the data sheet, I see the sample data.
What am I missing?
