We have primary field set in an autonumber field on upgrading the database from access 2 - 97 and finally to access 2000 the autonumber is showing as a negative number. There are currently about 20,000 records in the database and the latest number is -1378209.

Can any body help I tried searching but can't see anything.

Did the autonumber type get changed from sequential to random?

The field is still set to be incremental.

It is probable that your table is corrupted. Incremental autonumbers would NEVER be negative although random autonumbers could be.
