To the users more experienced than me, which is all of you,

I'm aiming to use Access 2000 as a personal almanac of all things I refer to, and some of the entries are long -- directions to someone's place, for example, and tables. I found that a memo field doesn't allow me to freely change the bolding, indentation and color of particular phrases and sections, so if I'm correct in concluding that that's impossible, then it's correct to give up on a memo field for text with varying fonts and color. As the next recourse, then, for data with a need for visual formatting, I've moved to Word OLE objects, which I customize freely.

I placed this OLE object field in a report, so now it's showing there. Yet its dimensions are invariable -- regardless of the length or shortness of this Word page, the space allocated to it in the report is fixed, either cutting off large sections or leaving large gaps. The Can Shrink and Can Grow choices no longer appear for OLE objects.

Is there a way to have the report display the data of this Word page object, and no more and no less?

Thank you.

Dear freind, Iīve got exactly the same problem and canīt get any answer anywhere. MS-access seems to be graet, but there appear some limitations, I fear...

You might consider purchasing a Rich Text control. It will allow you to format the text in a memo field so you won't need to resort to OLE objects.

If you can wait until next year, I believe that such a control ships with Access 2006.
