I've always preferred the couch, but I guess if one could find a willing partner the gym'll do just fine

I'm with you. However, I have always loved the gym. I plan to try working out at home in a few months, once I can get the little darling to play by herself for a half hour or more.

A bit of both

Don't actually attend a gym but have a little mini gym at home. Used to be really active training 6 nights of the week when I was with my Athletics club but then you have no time for anything else so gave that up.

Still think it's important to work out though especially when you have a job where you sit in front of a pc all day.

I'm going to try to do that as well. It just took me so long to start feeling normal again. My husband is an avid weightlifter though, so we have tons of stuff at home that I can play with as I have time. Finding time + energy is the problem though. :(

Used to do the gym in the winter to keep fit for walking, I don't see the point in walking in the cold and wet, I've not gone this year though, but I do try to walk everywhere and avoid lifts and escalators.

I also take the stairs at work when I can. I try to walk up to my office at least once a day, which is 8 floors from the basement level where I park.

Awesome pic.

In our office, I take my chair wherever possible rather than actually getting up... thats what the wheels are there for right?? ;)

The thing about gyms, there are usually a lot of sweaty people milling around in close quarters.

Wondering where Brian went last summer...the Lake District? The Pennine Way? Not Minnesota.

Tim

If only, coming down is hard on the old joints:)

It was on a training execise which nearly turned into a real exercise as its downdraught blew a climber off his hold, he was saved by his ropes but crashed into the rock face and sprained his wrist, resulting in him needing to be helped down by his companions.
I only know this as he is a work colleague of my walking buddy.

You should be able to upload the image to a free image hosting site like this one:

http://www.freeimagehosting.net/

After it uploads, copy the url and then do the 'Insert Image' thing on the toolbar...

Bri. . . . . .merely trying to educate the colonials in the British railway system. The Bristol - Penzance line used to have nice trains but privatisation and cutbacks forced the reintroduction of the express Rich pictured (I believe is does pass close to Plymouth).
