What percentage of internet users have the Flash applet installed? I am thinking of installing a flash animation on one of my sites but don't know how many people can see it.

But I think you can do a script to check and re-direct/etc if needed... Kodo 12-07-2005, 05:22 AM http://www.macromedia.com/software/player_census/flashplayer/ Jon 12-08-2005, 06:07 AM So nearly everybody then... hatebreed 03-02-2006, 02:21 PM 99.9% of users planbprojekt 03-13-2006, 07:41 AM Yeah ..i agree with the guy who wants to use a redirect script...that way u can have your cake and eat it too.. Vassago 03-13-2006, 04:05 PM Most internet users do, but you have to consider the bandwidth issues, the larger the animation, the more bandwidth people will use. If they are on dial-up, it may take a while for the animation to load. Also, if this site is used for business use, a lot of companies prevent downloading and installing plugins, such as flash player. webster 03-21-2006, 01:52 PM My whole company and the organisation i'm helping (over 5K people) has FLASH installed on their home, laps etc simply because its so common! If you do flash, u can optimise its size by ensuring your graphics are lean and trimmed wel. ;) John |
