I have a PS2 and my brother is bringing his over at Christmas. Does anyone know if i can connect the two directly to each other using a crossover network cable? From what I've read you can play games over a network with a router but does the same apply to just connecting the two directly to each other?

You can't play online games without an internet connection because you can't connect to the game servers without it, so a crossover cable will not work for this.

I'm not fussed about online games at the moment, I just want to play over a LAN. Is that possible?

You *should* be able to play LAN games using a crossover cable, it depends on the game itself. If the PS2 does not have any LAN games then get yourself a XBox 360, there are plenty for that..........

Heres what I have. I only use it for online gaming, but it works great.
