I have exported a report from Access to Excel and Excel has grouped each subset of records such that all rows can be expanded/collapsed using the '+' sign symbol in the left hand margin. (what is this feature called in the helpfiles - grouping????)

However, each SUBSET of records contains (1->M) a different number of records, I need to calculate an average on each SUBSET of records for each '+' group.

Any ideas how to do this - (preferably at group level without having to specify all the source fields for each total)?

You should create your report as complete as possible in Access....

Simply include it inside your access report...

I agree with The Mailman, you should add this to your report.

As or the feature its called 'Group and Outline' under the Data tab.
