I know how to protect a worksheet from being changed by the user but this does not seem to prevent it being deleted.

Anyone know how to accomplish this

Howdy. That is a system issue (Windows), not related to XL itself. I don't know anything about system protection of files. Hopefully someone can help you.

If you right click on the file and pick "Properties", you should be able to change the permissions on the file which would prevent it being deleted. As shades says, this is outside XL's remit.
