    DB Consistantly Corrupting

I wish I could, however, unfortuatnely I use a terminal, so not something I can do. Over a week later, and I'm still waiting for them. At least the boss is also throwing his toys out of the cot now, and they're aimed right at System Support's head.

    DB Consistantly Corrupting

Hi Button, This is actually what I've been pursueing with our Systems Department since Monday. I discovered in the morning, after talking to someone else in the business, that they've been suffering with the same problem that I have. As the client isn't mine, or used by the same team, it does...

    DB Consistantly Corrupting

Gave De-Compiling a go at the weekend, along side recreating all the tables and porting the data across afterwards with SELECT statement. Lasted about 24 hours before failure.Trying to get our Systems team to set up a SQL server for me, so I can try that route. Found out that across the whole...

    DB Consistantly Corrupting

When you say rebuild, do you mean recreate every form, or just recreate the MDE? I have about 45 forms, so this could be quite a lengthy process. Thanks.

    DB Consistantly Corrupting

Topics from Allenbrowne: Recovering from corruption - Repeatedly completed this step, as advised in my post. Symptom: Cannot open a form or report - not applicable Symptom: Number of records varies, depending how the data is sorted - not applicable Symptom: Some table rows show #Deleted -...

    DB Consistantly Corrupting

Hi Spike, I am reviewing those, but much of that suggests the above, or otherwise isn't applicable. As stated in my post, I've moved the topic beeause i wanted to have a new thread which showed a better picture of what I'm having (and you can't change the title of the thread either, and the #'s...

    DB Consistantly Corrupting

HI all, Although i have another topic at the moment, I'm starting another, as the issue seems to have changed as fixes have been attempted. As a result, I felt it may be better to make a fresh start in the topic thread, so that I can highlight exactly what's happening, and what we've done to...

    Table filling with #'s

I'm going to try using the old be as a backend, and then starting a new back end, with the majority of import being structure only and seeing what happens. Hopefully it'll highlight if it's a form issue, or old data. If it's old data, the new back end should at least work fine. Not the ideal...

    Table filling with #'s

Yep, I left the one's that are normally hidden off. I created a brand new file, then selected File > Get External Data > Import, then selected all and removed excluded the tables mSysAccessObjects, mSysAces, MsysObjects, MSysQueries, and MSysRelationships from the selected.

    Table filling with #'s

Exactly what I'd just done, but it died almost instantly. Really stuck.

    Table filling with #'s

So, the database was stable all morning, until just now (07:00-13:00). I've got another of those entries in the table as well (below). Does anyone have any info? ErrorCode ErrorDescription ErrorRecid ErrorTable -1605 Could not find field 'Description'. tblRequest Thanks.

    Table filling with #'s

Not sure if this helps, just booted it up and there's a table "MSysCompactError", with the following entries: ErrorCode ErrorDescription ErrorRecid ErrorTable -1206 Could not find field 'Description'. tblRequest -1053 Could not find field 'Description'. tblRequest...

    Table filling with #'s

Thanks Solo. I'll give this a try. I won't be able to till late hours tonight/early hours tomorrow, as there's over 300,000 records, so I'd rather not stress the db, or server, during peak hours. If anyone has any other ideas in the mean time, I'll still be grateful. Cheers!

    Table filling with #'s

Anything they're copying would be from internet explorer, and would only be specific data provided from our ecommerce site. Although i can understand that characters that Access may disagree with could be an issue, why would this suddenly crop up now, when since September last year has never...

    Table filling with #'s

Thanks james. Some users may copy and paste, but there shouldn't be any special characters in there. The fields also have validations on them, and the special characters would often be outside of the allowed range. I've had a stab at a bunch of thigns to try and get the database undercontrol...

    Table filling with #'s

Database consistantly corrupting, and primary key lose Hi All, I came back yesterday, after having a nice weekend, to find that work had somehow managed to do a number on the Access 2003 database we use. I'm not sure what they've done, but when i had a look at one of the tables, it was filled...

Thanks JHB. I was hoping for something a little "cleaner" but it does the job. Cheers.

    Import Spreadsheet with form variables

Hi all, I'm looking at importing data into a table from a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet will only contain a single column of data, while the table in Access will have a few more, some of which will would be will provided from the form the user is using to import the data, and some at a later...

    Incomplete capture in query

Thanks Pat, replaced it with joins (as follows), and works great. SELECT tblRequest.RequestID, 'N/A' AS [Week No], tblRequest.[Refund Date] AS [Date], tblRequest.Requester, tblRequest.Authoriser, tblRequest.Refunder AS Processor, tblRequest.[CRIS Reference] AS [CRIS Ref No]...

    Incomplete capture in query

Hi All, I have a query which exports to a excel file afterwards, however, it's not capturing all the data I need. I can see why it's not working as intended, but can't work out how to resolve it. My query is at the bottom, and I think the problem is the "(([tbl Master].ID)=[tblRequest].[Cost...
