I've placed a subform in the header of a continuous form.

But the parent form changes to a single form.

All the years using access I wasn't aware of this.

Is this normal??

Yes, you can't have sub forms on a continuous.

you can if you put the subform in the header or footer.

@James - I've not experience it changing a continuous form back to a single form. Perhaps your form ahs become corrupted

How can I tell if it is corrupted?

Wouldn't surprise me. Seems if I breath wrong on a form it gets corrupted.

I could go the other way and put the continuous form on the single form.

So, this isn't normal?

No you can't, at least up to 2010. It has always been the case.

Use a main form and make the others all subforms.

Use textboxs on the main form for the MasterLinkFields and set the ControlSources of the textboxes to the fields in the Master subform.

OK I stand corrected. Learned something new.

The Microsoft message can be ignored and the form DefaultView set to ContinuousForms after placing the subformcontrol.

I see.

I have to change it back.

I'm glad it's not a corrupted form. I've had my share of them.

Thanks to all for the help,
James
