We have a split db with the BE on a server and the FEs on the client pcs which are all running Access Runtime

I set up users on the database with different access permissions but when I open the FE in Access Runtime it doesnt ask for login credentials and just allows full read/write access to any user.

Can Access Runtime be set up for different logins/passwords?

Thanks

you should have created a new workgroup. the default workgroup is installed on every computer. Setting the admin password on one computer doesn't work on other computers.

Create a new workgroupfile and deploy it along with the access FE database. Add users and set permissions.

Startup using this new workgroupfile instead of the default one.

Enjoy!

ok, I created a new workgroup file with the users and passwords and copied it to the client pc desktop along with the FE but it still doesnt ask for a Username/pass when I open the db with Access RT on the client pc

How do I "Startup using this new workgroupfile instead of the default one." ?

Thanks

I got it thanks

path\msaccess.exe /wrkgrp path\securityfile.mdw

Thanks

Paul
