Hello everyone and thank you for your help. I know the OLE Object Viewer draws a lot of questions here, I have myself asked about it in the past. It is such a buggy little tool, yet it is so useful.
I have a strange issue. I have two MS Access DB's that both have the OLE Object Viewer placed on a form and both have .pdf files stored in the object viewer field.
On DB #1, when I double click the object viewer my .PDF file opens up like I expect it. Then I can click back on the MS Access DB (set the focus back on the MS Access DB) and keep working and the .pdf file remains open.
On DB #2, when I double click on the object viewer my .PDF file opens up like I expect it. But when I click back on the MS Access DB, the .PDF file automatically closes.
I cannot figure out why the .PDF linked object for DB #2 closes automatically. I compared the properties of the OLE object viewer, and they are the same. I compared the coding references for the database code, and they were the same. I compared the database options, and they were the same.
Yet the .PDF file performs differently on the very same machine. I cannot find a reason for the file to automatically close, much less a way to prevent this. It is a pain for the users, because they want to look at the linked .PDF and then enter data based on the .PDF, but when they click on the database the .PDF closes automatically.
Has anyone run into this before? Is there a work around, or a fix?
I am at wits end, ugh.
