Error Message

"Unrecognized Database Fotmat"

Pat I have downloaded your Date Program but cannot open it as I get the above error message.

I am Running 2007 on a Windows XP Machine.

I have downloaded Twice to make sure the download was not corrupt.

This machine has never had Access 2003 installed.

2007 Does run correctly as far as I know.

Not being a 2007 user is there something I am doing wrong.

Re: Sample Date Functions

I wonder if there are any 2007 users who can open it.

Maybe it was written in 2010 and saved as 2007. Just guessing here.

I looked at your link to find that I have been there before.

I don't know why Microsoft has chosen this path. It makes compatibility a joke.

Not only do I prefer 2003 I would go so far as to say that I would prefer 97 rather than this new format.

I only write in 2003. When I do so I make sure it will be compatible with 2007, but I can't test 2010 too easily.

My current project is for a company that does not have any standardisation, hence my DB must run under Vista, Windows 7 Access 2003, 2007 2010 with any combination of the above. This is a right royal pain.

End of Gripe.

I have sent a PM to Pat Hartman for her to have a look.

I don't know what is going on here but it is asking me to download a program.

Do you think you could attach the file in a standard post.

BTW. Should I be seeing all those files. Some look as though they could be personal.

Thanks

Thanks Rain for the info - things at 4 shared are public.
Here's a separate zip.

Re: Sample Date Functions

Works fine.

Can even open in 2003 so I don't need to fire up the other machine.

I will have a little play and see if I can break it.

Re: Sample Date Functions

jDraw, thanks for converting to A2003. I work with A2010 and hadn't tried to open the database with A2007 so didn't know there was an issue. There is nothing new in the database. It should all work fine in A3003. I will copy your A2003 version and add it to my download. PS - did you mean to post a link to your shared folder?

Re: Sample Date Functions

No problem Pat. Happy to help.

I removed the link to my shared folder. I didn't see an issue, but both you and rain commented -- so I just removed the link.

Merry Christmas!
